RELEASE FROM FEAR
Recovery Einstein's Big Book perspective on the AA Daily Reflection for June 20.
Fear is the great enemy of our sobriety — it blocks us from the very spiritual experience that sets us free. The Big Book teaches us to fearlessly face our fears, listing them on paper in our inventory [Page 67-68] and then asking God to remove them. In the Seventh Step Prayer we say, 'Remove my fear' [Page 76], because we cannot do it alone. When we are released from fear, we find a new freedom and happiness — the Promises tell us fear leaves us and we intuitively know how to handle situations that used to baffle us [Page 84]. This release isn't a one-time event; it's a daily reprieve dependent on our spiritual condition [Page 85]. Keep coming back, keep working the Steps, and fear loses its grip.
